Industrial Visit to Mother Dairy Plant, Delhi
Mother Dairy plays an important role in every household where the day begins with a cup of steaming hot tea using milk from the Mother Dairy Plant. First year students of BBA, B.Com and MBA went for an industrial trip to Mother Dairy manufacturing plant in Patparganj on 17th November2018.Ms. Neelam Yadav, Ms. Maneesha Sharma, Ms. Jasmeet Kauralong with 61 students left for visit at 10 a.m. and it took about one and half hours to cover the distance.The main objective behind the visit was to make students aware about the mechanized milk production process.
Mother Dairy markets approximately 3.2 million liters of milk daily in markets of Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad. The plant is located within the ambit of lush green environment and employs state of the art technology.
Ms. Neha gave a presentation related to the history of the Mother Dairy Plant. She told students about the white revolution and primitive and newer modes of milk collection and distribution. She also told about the actual milk processing capacity of the plant along with the significance of the steps in processing.
Going forward, a small documentary film of Mother Dairy Plant was shown, which depicted the process of milk production. Students also interacted with the staff of the Mother Dairy Plant and were shown videos and presentation of the drink. The process is totally automated and is internationally designed keeping in mind the international standards of hygiene. Students enjoyed interaction and asked numerous questions.
Overall, the activity was highly interactive and an eye-opening visit for students on the concepts related to production and operations within a milk manufacturing plant.
