Sunder Deep College of Law Organized a webinar on

A Webinar was conducted by Sunder Deep College of Law, SDGI on 16.10.2020. It was blessed by the benign presence of Respected Chairperson Sh. Mahendra Aggrawal sir, Vice Chairman Sh. Akhil Aggarwal sir, Chief Mentor of Sunder Deep Group of Institutions Prof. (Dr.) R.K. Khandal sir, Director General Mr. Jamil Ahmad sir, and our eminent speaker Advocate, Mr. Navin Kumar Jaggi, Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Singh, Director, Sunder Deep College of Law, and various Directors, Heads Of Departments, faculty members of several departments. More than 100 students attended the Webinar. Dr. Singh, Director, SDCL gave a welcome address to the eminent guests of the webinar.

An advocate by profession Mr. Jaggi has been practicing law since 1972. Currently a Legal Adviser at Delhi Public School Society and I.T.D.C. Advocate Jaggi is the C.E.O. of Navin Kumar Jaggi & Associates, and Jaggi & Jaggi Advocates. He was a Legal Advisor at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, St. Thomas’ School, Mandir Marg, Queen Mary’s School, Tis Hazari, St. Stephen’s Hospital, YMCA, Max Mueller Bhavan, Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School. Mr. Navin Kumar Jaggi had his schooling in St. Columba’s High School and thereafter majored in Economics from theHindu College, University of Delhi. He was also a Law Teacher of Delhi University, where he taught Law of Pleadings and Conveyancing, Law of Limitation, Arbitration Law, Labour Law, Law relating to the Seas and Constitutional Law. He has been Counsel for the Union of India as well as the Delhi Development Authority and several other Public Undertakings for many years.

Mr. Navin Kumar Jaggi has been awarded with Lifetime Achievement Award For ‘Dyslexia’ by Hon’ble Chief Justice Shri Ashok A. Desai, Uttaranchal High Court, for his works for Dyslexic children. He was honoured with the ‘Excellence in the Legal Profession Award’ by two Chief Justices of India, Hon’ble Justices A.M. Ahmadi and Rang Nath Mishra, and was also awarded the ‘Bhartiya Shiromani Puraskar’ by the Governor of Gujrat.

The session was further carried forward by the eminent speaker Advocate, Mr. Navin Kumar Jaggi. Mr Jaggi gave an insight of the real world of Advocates, to our young lawyers. He taught them the manners of the court, such as bowing before the judge, talking to him respectfully even if they are not favouring their case, etc. and the nuances of an effective court practice. He further emphasized on the impact of attire of an Advocate on the Judge. He said that a neatly and adequately suited advocate gives a good impression on the judge and clients and polishes the overall personality of an Advocate.

Mr. Jaggi shared some anecdotes from his life to encourage and motivate students to pursue a career as an advocate. He said that a client is God for an Advocate, that he is his “Ann data” meaning ‘the provider’, and that Advocates shall learn to treat their clients accordingly.

He shared the ‘Art of courtroom’ with the students, that is, the manner of right conduct and right attitude with the judge in a courtroom. He emphasized on the use of “Brains over brawn”. He said that an Advocate shall learn to deal with things tactfully, instead of brawling. An act of repartee shall be favourable than arguing with the judge. He further gave some tips to students on practising court arguments. The session was then followed by Question- Answering Session, wherein different questions were taken up by the speaker.

Overall, the session was highly informative and inspirational for both the students and faculty members and infused a catalytic energy in the young students of Sunder Deep College of Law.
