Pharmacy – An Ever-Growing Profession and Teaching and Learning in New Age- Shifting Paradigms

Sunder Deep Pharmacy College organized an online webinar on 14th July 2020. Eminent speakers were Prof. Dr. R.K Khar, Principal B.S Anangpuria Institute of Pharmacy Faridabad, and Prof. Dr. R.K Khandal, President R&D and Business Development India Glycol Ltd and former Vice Chancellor of UPTU (now known as AKTU, Lucknow).

Dr. R.K Khar is an excellent academician, researcher and innovator. He has thoroughly explored different segments of Novel Drug Delivery System, Preformulation Studies, Dosage Forms etc. He shared his views on Teaching and Learning in new age- Shifting paradigms. He said that students should focus on learning basic concepts and skill enhancement so that the gap between the theory and practical aspects can be fulfilled. He emphasized on the need for outcome-based education. He talked about the utilization of time during this pandemic situation. The emphasis was to find a new in you, by strengthening your strengths and weakening your weaknesses.

Dr. R.K. Khandal is a world-renowned academician, an excellent orator, leader and researcher. He shared his views on the importance of Pharmacy education. He said that Pharmacy graduates stand apart from the other science graduates in terms of skills development. He encouraged students to come out with novel ideas and topics on latest advances in healthcare and then deliver these ideas through webinar so that they can boost up the confidence as well. He said that online education is the need of the hour and we should focus on its positive aspects.

Convenor of the event was Dr. Shalini Sharma, Director SDPC. In the welcome address she said that learning is a dynamic process and change is the only constant in this world. Digital education is now the new normal. Event was very well coordinated by Dr. Anita Singh, Mr Abhinit Chaudhary and Dr. Neeti Shrivastav.

Faculty and students of SDPC as well as from various other colleges and a number of Pharmacy Aspirants attended the webinar. Webinar ended with a vote of thanks by Sh. Jamil Ahmad, Director General, Sunder Deep Group of Institutions.
