The Department of AS & H aspires to achieve excellence in teaching and training the young engineering students in the areas of humanities , Social Sciences and Basic Sciences through outcome based quality education and nurture them to emerge as professional leaders, lifelong learners and responsible citizens of global community.

Mission

The mission of the department is to offer courses that aim to strengthen the students’ creative and critical thinking, problem solving abilities, Communication Skills and broaden intellectual perspectives, to understand and deal with social realities through continuous learning experiences.

The Department teaches different fundamental subjects such as Professional Communication, Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Physics, Engineering Chemistry, Environmental Science and Universal Human Values & Professional Ethics in B. Tech. and some other important subjects in M. Tech program. The teachers of the department are well qualified and experienced whose services and guidance is indispensible for the students of all departments which act as a foundation stone for our budding engineers of all streams of UG and PG courses in Engineering. Mostly teachers are Ph.D./ NET qualified. They have published their research papers/ articles in national and international journals of repute, which have been appreciated and reviewed by the learned professors. The Department has well equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry and Professional Communication. The department imparts the quality education through systematic, continuous and synchronized process of teaching & learning followed by regular tutorials and seminars. In fact, the functional knowledge of Applied Science & Humanities is essential for any technical /professional courses.
