PRE-PLACEMENT TRAINING

Sunderdeep college of Hotel Management has a well-established Training & Placement (T&P) Cell in place which facilitates the placement process for students. Established with an aim to bridge the gap between industry and university, the T&P Cell conducts pre-placement training sessions to equip students with necessary skills to help them excel in their respective fields. Below are some benefits of pre-placement training sessions during the recruitment season.

PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT

Personality development is one of the most important aspects of training sessions wherein the Placement Cell organizes a series of tests and workshops to recognize their talent and shortcomings. The main aim of the Placement Cell is to groom students so that they can deal with the challenging situations at work. Since pre-placement time can be quite daunting, these sessions also help in motivating the students by conducting various workshops on how to increase their self-esteem.

SOFT SKILLS AND APTITUDE TRAINIG

Although there are a large number of eligible students clearing the campus tests, the success rate continues to be unsatisfactory. The reason being, lack of aptitude skills and soft skills in final year students seeking placements. The Placement Cell organizes sessions and special programs to address such aptitude test failures and train students on analytical, logical, verbal, and critical reasoning. Along with English verbal and language adaptability, the key features of the program include problem-solving and time-saving techniques.

GROUP DISCUSSIONS

Group discussions have become an integral part of the hiring process. Companies select students for the final interview round on the basis of their performance in the group discussion. One of the best ways to study the attitudinal and behavioral responses of the participants, group discussions are more of an interaction than a conventional test. The Placement Cell conducts mock group discussions to develop confidence, communication skills, teamwork (how you manage and engage fellow participants) and technical knowledge of the subject.

RESUME AND COVER LETTER WRINTING

According to recent statistics, an average employer only spends a few minutes scanning your resume and cover letter, hence, it is imperative to create an effective and short resume. To make that first best impression on a potential employer, you need to capture the attention using infographics and relevant information on the first page itself. How to create an attention-grabbing resume is what the Placement Cell helps you with so that your resume does not get tossed into the discarded files.

PERSONAL INTERVIEW

One of the most crucial steps to get hired by your dream company is to excel in the final rounds of personal interviews. While some companies schedule 2-3 rounds of interviews including technical and HR interviews, a few select students on the basis of panel interview round and Skype interview. The Placement Cell trains students on important interview skills related to dress code, confidence, creativity, ability to react and respond, and handle stress.
