About the Department

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering was established in the year 2006 has a capacity of 120 students in the B. Tech and 12 students in M. Tech with highly qualified faculty. The Computer Science & Engineering Department is one of the largest departments in terms of faculty, students and activities at SDEC Ghaziabad.

This programme produces graduates with a broad understanding of the Computer Science and Engineering discipline giving them a competitive edge through robust curriculum and hands-on learning in niche technologies to develop competence that caters to the requirements of the industry. It primarily deals with the development as well as designing of computer software and hardware processes with a strong focus on courses related to algorithms, computation, programming languages, program design, computer hardware, computer software, databases, operating systems, computer networking, etc. that are needed to build and solve problems using computers.

The graduates shall be able to:

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

  1. Perform system and application programming using computer system concepts, concepts of Data Structures, algorithm development, problem solving and optimizing techniques.
  2. Apply software development and project management methodologies using concepts of computer systems, communication and emerging technologies.


  • Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex computer engineering problems.
  • Problem analysis:Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex computer engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • Design/development of solutions:Design solutions for complex computer engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specific needs with appropriate considerations for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • Conduct investigations of complex problems:Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide conclusions.
  • Modern tool usage:Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent relevant to the professional engineering practices.

The prime focus of computer center & labs is to impart knowledge of Computer Science and related fields by applying technical skills in the form of real life applications. All labs are well equipped with modern facilities with WIFI. Department undertakes industry and research oriented projects to give hands-on experience and exposure to the Students.
